Game Hunting Tanzania

Tanzania has long been considered the finest safari destination in all of Africa and within its borders lie legendary game reserves such as the Selous. Here the lion reigns “king of beasts” over the Masai and large populations of buffalo. Access to the hunting areas is mostly by Charter flights.

The hunting areas are in excess of 10 million acres and combine incredible concentrations of wildlife. It is remote and peaceful, but more importantly, it is the true Africa, undamaged and unspoilt.

Hunting camps are rustic, yet comfortable and the tents have en-suite showers and flush toilets. At night you can sit around the open fire and enjoy African skies and sundowners.

The hunting season starts in July and runs through to December. In the winter months (July to September), one can expect cool mornings and warm days. Towards the end of the season the mornings are mild and the days considerably hotter.

Guwela guide hunts in Tanzania as licensed professional hunters through Game Frontiers of Tanzania. We operate in 13 prime hunting blocks, which offer a wide variety of ecosystems and 52 animal species. The trophy quality is outstanding and many trophies taken have qualified for prestigious awards in SCI. Most of Mafigeni's Big Game Safaris (buffalo, lion, leopard, elephant) safaris are conducted in Tanzania. We promote ethical hunting, the conservation of wildlife resources, anti-poaching and community development in our hunting areas.
